From a customer e-mail:
I do have a space heater in my room where I keep the wigs that I’ve bought, however, I never take them out with the space heater on, and it’s on a low setting, pointed in another direction, on the other side of the room about 15 feet away.....are their any other precautions I should take, short of turning off the space heater and freezing?
A space heater shouldn’t really be of any threat to your synthetic wigs unless you’re sitting right up against them while they’re on a high setting. Even in these cases, you would probably have to get the wig extremely close to the heater for any real damage to be done.
Where things get trickier is when we start talking about ovens and things where the temperature can get crazy-hot, and even limited exposure can melt or deflate your wig. Space heaters, on the other hand, do not generally get hot enough to be an issue unless your wig comes into direct contact with it or is extremely close to it for an extended period of time.
