From a customer e-mail:
I am looking for wigs in a certain color but am having difficulty. The Raquel RL29/25 works as well but I find it a little too chunky on the highlights. Envy’s Creamed Coffee is similar. If you know of other brands that have a similar color please let me know.
That RL29/25 is probably the best bet for this particular style.
RL29/25: Golden Russett is VERY heavily highlighted in large sections (contrary to what the color code might otherwise indicate, this is NOT a standard blended shade), and the contrast between the highlights and base shades is significant.
However, if you ever order a wig that comes in the SS25: Shaded Ginger Blonde, that would probably be a little closer to what you’re looking for. I am pretty sure – but not 100% – that this color is only available in the non-heat-friendly wigs. It’s lighter than the Golden Russet, but has less highlighting and still preserves the lovely dark roots and warm buttery undertones of the blend that you’re trying to achieve.
Here are some other suggested colors from other brands . . .
GL27/29: Chocolate Caramel is a Gabor color that may seem darker, but most of the Gabor palette is actually a little lighter than the color codes would otherwise indicate. (That is a VERY important note for anyone who likes dark brunettes! When in doubt, order brunette Gabor wigs one shade darker than you would normally order.)
Ellen Wille’s Tobacco Mix is heavily highlighted, but the highlights are VERY fine, making this a very dynamic, beautiful color!
31H is a marvelous, unexpected Henry Margu color that just kind of comes out of nowhere! It is surrounded on both sides of their color wheel by vibrant auburns and then – WHAM! – here comes 31H, a smooth, gentle blend of light auburns and light chocolate shades that is extremely pretty and easy to wear.
Jon Reanu’s 27MB: Strawberry Shortcake is a gorgeous blended light auburn that is PERFECT for anyone who seeks a natural light auburn without any appreciable highlighting.
Maple Sugar (either rooted – with an “R” after the name– or non-rooted) by Noriko / ROP / Amore, is a beautiful, warm, light golden brown and light auburn blend, with soft butterscotch blonde highlights. The highlights are as intense as they are on the Golden Russet by Raquel Welch, which may make this a better color option for you if you want to preserve some highlights without going overboard.
