From a customer e-mail:
A few months ago I bought the Jon Renau Top Notch in 10h16. I love the piece & want to buy another, perhaps in a shade lighter. I have had another in shaded mocha (24BT18S8) and I don't want to go that light. Would you be able to recommend a color that's a little lighter than 10H16, but darker than 24BT18S8? I don't really like red tones. Thanks, you have a terrific, helpful website!
Thanks for the compliment! And -- ooooh, that's tricky!
The 10H16: Latte is a medium-light ashy brown with dark ash-blonde highlights.
The only non-red option available that sits between 10H16 and 24BT18 (with or without the "S8") is:
A 12: Coffee Cake is a non-highlighted light GOLDEN brown. That golden part is emphasized because it might be a deal-breaker here since you dig ashy tones. In the Jon Renau line, it actually looks a bit like a dark golden blonde.
For the record, 10RH16: Almondine is very pretty, too. It has slightly more of the dark blonde highlight on top, and more of the #10 concentrated at the bottom. The concentrated highlights near the top will make this appear a bit lighter on top, even though it's got the same color combination as the 10H16.
It is only available in full-capped wigs -- because how can you have a darker nape on a topper without a nape? :)
