They fit snug and securely, right up against the scalp like a second skin and are not intended for folks with a full head of hair. These wigs will not fit properly if you have a full, thick head of hair underneath. They are designed for folks with profound hair loss!
I think they fit really nicely on the VAST majority of women - myself included!
I include a message about what I'm wig I'm wearing on any given day as part of my email signature. I encourage all of my Help Desk employees to do the same. You never know when someone will have a question about the EXACT wig you're wearing!
One day, someone was talking about human hair wigs and I mentioned off the cuff that the one I was wearing was "pretty sweet". Here is my signature for that day so you can see what it was...
*I*, with my ginormous head, was wearing a wig in an average-petite cap size!
This REALLY piqued my customer's curiosity, so I went into further detail:
I have a technically large head: my circumference is 23.5”. The rest of my measurements are fairly average, though. The back of my head is relatively flat and I do not have much in the way of biohair.
This cap is snug on me, but secure, and is still pretty darn comfortable. If your measurements are smaller than mine, this wig will fit like a glove. On me, it fits securely right up against my scalp and looks VERY natural.
This one is snug enough on me and my big head that I cannot get a wig cap on underneath it. It’s ok, though. The lace is relatively pliable, so it isn’t terribly scratchy, at least compared to some other brands. I also have enough biohair on top that it doesn’t bother my scalp at all.
So, if I can wear this and I have a technically large cap size, I think that speaks volume to the range and versatility of some of these petite-average styles…or at least this one!
Here is a picture I just took. I am not wearing any makeup right now, so please forgive me for looking washed out.
I did not cut or style Emotion in any way. This is actually my second day wearing her and I am testing her out to see if I can get away with the fit so I can talk about it when I review this style. She comes right out of the box looking like she does in the pictures here! My only real complaint is a super nit-picky one: I wish the lace front wasn’t straight across. I would like it better if it had a soft contour in the middle, like Jon Renau. Other than that, I really love this wig!
And there you have it! I have an Emotion wig in a Petite-Average cap size and it fits tight but comfortably on me.
This will not be the case for everyone with a big head. You will have to experiment to see what works best for you. If you have an average cap size, though, don't sweat it! This one will fit like a glove, as will all of the petite-average Ellen Wille wigs, provided you do not have a whole heap of biohair underneath.
