With the Estetica human hair (HH) wigs, it specifically states to let them air dry, which is good because it helps keep the hair in good condition, but it also takes a LONG time to dry! Sometimes I put them on a plastic wig stand to dry overnight and its still not 100% dry in the morning, so that can be frustrating if it's your go-to wig and you only have overnight to dry it, style it, and wear it again.
My Venus wig air dries nicely, but I still think it needs a bit of straightening before you can wear it. That being said, it doesn't take much straightening. Once the straightener is hot it takes me 5 minutes max to make it look tame enough to wear out the door. My Liliana wig looks like a poofy hot mess after it air dries and needs a lot more taming than the Venus before I can walk out the door with it. I honestly think it is because the Liliana has a lot more layers in it than the Venus.
Since it is Chinese hair, the strands are still a bit thicker than what most people are used to with their own biological hair which is closer to European hair and Chinese hair isn't the type of hair that you can just air dry and walk out the door. It will take SOME taming after it dries.
As far as washing it, I honestly think you could probably get away with every 2 weeks with daily wear. My personal preference is to go as LONG as possible between washing because I feel like it helps preserve the hair and the color (especially if you end up heat styling it every time). I only wash the wig when I can tell it's feeling a little dirty/heavy.
Oh, and as far as learning to style the hair, I don't think it really took me any time and that's because I used to style my bio hair almost every day when I had it. I actually prefer to style my HH wigs on my head because that was how I was used to doing it when I had hair.
