Customer question: Do you think having a mono top is better? This is only because I am still new to wigs.
I'm delighted to offer my opinion on the benefits and down side of monofilament tops. Monofilament tops are an upgraded cap feature. They offer a more natural looking top with more versatility in styling (because you can move the part) while still allowing air to circulate around the wefted sides. Another upside is that with a monofilament top (in comparison to a standard or open cap), there is usually little or no permatease. The downside is that with a monofilament top, there is usually little or no permatease. Some ladies like permatease and open caps use more to hide the wefting at the part. Some ladies don't like the look of permatease and how it lays on the cap. They also don't like the extra bulk or volume permatease creates. One other downside is that although the wefting on the sides allow circulation; standard and open caps are even cooler because the top isn't covered. Another thing to consider is because this is an upgraded cap feature, it raises the price point.
So, whether a mono top is better for you will be dependent on you and your needs. I think it's awesome we have such a variety of options when it comes to cap features.
What do some of you Cyster's think are some of the benefits of your favorite cap features and why? I think this could be the beginning of a fun and informative conversation.
