What is Route?
Route is shipping insurance! This service provides protection for shipments that are lost, broken, or stolen. This service is provided by Route, a third-party insurance provider. All claims, payments, etc. are administered by Route and not CysterWigs.com or its parent company. The Route system will automatically calculate what to charge you at checkout, based upon the total value of items in your cart. The insurance price is generally 1-3% of the total and is non-refundable.
Note: CysterWigs does not make a profit on this program. We charge exactly what the insurance costs as a courtesy to our clients.
Doesn’t UPS and FedEx already cover this?
The common misconception with shipping insurance is that the major carriers cover lost and stolen items. Even though some shipping carriers do cover SOME of the claims, it’s only up to $100 in value and once they leave the item on the doorstep they wash their hands of any liability. Even filing a claim that may fit in their responsibility is incredibly difficult with lackluster approvals and often is more frustrating and a hassle than worth it.
Does Route cover porch pirating/stolen items?
Yes! When orders are insured with Route, any items stolen off of your customer's porches are covered by Route, NOT the merchant, even after the item is marked as delivered. 11 million Americans had packages stolen last year alone and with the increase in online shopping, this number just keeps growing.
Is Route a licensed insurance company?
Yes. Not only is Route a licensed insurance company, we knew had to get the biggest name in shipping insurance as a partner to roll out a marquee product and secured Lloyds of London as our insurance partner.
How Does Route Work?
1) Select Route at Checkout or In Your Cart.
You will see Route and have the ability to insure your order during the checkout process.
You may also opt-out of the program by simply removing it from your cart. Just hit the “x” next to Route in your cart to opt-out.
NOTE: Because Route is a third-party service provider, CysterWigs.com cannot manually add or remove this program to your order after you submit it.
2) One-Click Claims: Filing a Claim is Nearly Instant with Route.
If your product never shows up, gets broken in transit, or is stolen from your porch, Route will cover it!
Right after you place your order, you will automatically receive an email confirming that you elected to protect your shipment with Route. Keep this email! A simple click on the included "File Claim" link in that email will prefill your order info into the online form and make it easy to file your claim.
NOTE: Because this is a third-party service, CysterWigs.com cannot manually do this for you. We do not have access to that system or the funds associated. Any claims will need to go through Route directly, and the easiest way to do that is via the email they provide you at checkout.
3) Fast Payment + Instant Payment Upon Approval + Automated Claim Handling
Route makes reimbursements easier than ever. Other insurance companies make customers wait for a check in the mail. Route allows them to connect their bank account and get paid instantly upon approval.
